REQUIREMENTS ------------ Hardware: 286 or 386 PC with at least 1 megabyte of RAM. Software: Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher. VBRUN100.DLL, the Visual Basic runtime DLL. WHAT IS IT? ----------- QuickLaunch for Windows puts the convenience of the Program Manager's "Run..." dialog box at your fingertips - no matter what application you're currently using! Simply press the special hotkey and QuickLaunch appears. Now the easiest way to launch programs and documents from Windows can be available to you at the touch of a button! This is not a replacement "shell" for Windows - rather, it complements whatever shell you currently use. It's even compatible with Norton Desktop. FINDING VBRUN100.DLL -------------------- VBRUN100.DLL, the Visual Basic runtime DLL, is required to use this program. This DLL is available through most information systems and BBS services. If you purchased this disk through a shareware disk vendor, it may be located on this disk or available separately from the vendor. If you cannot find VBRUN100.DLL, please give our customer service hotline a call at (908) 545-3010 for assistance. INSTALLATION ------------ 1) Copy the QuickLaunch files (QLAUNCH.EXE, QLAUNCH.HLP, etc.) to the directory of your choice on your hard disk. 2) Make sure that VBRUN100.DLL is located somewhere in your path. The best place for it is often the Windows\System directory. 3) To install QuickLaunch as an icon in a Program Manager group, consult the "Creating A Program Item" section of the Windows 3.1 User's Guide (pages 78-82 in the English language version). 4) If you'd like QuickLaunch to automatically start each time you start Windows, install QuickLaunch as an icon the Program Manager Startup group. (This is suggested.) 5) That's all there is to it. To learn more about using QuickLaunch, run QLAUNCH.EXE, press Shift-F9, choose the "Help" button, and browse QuickLaunch's online help system. Note: QuickLaunch is a "TSR"-like program. When first run, you may not notice that it is actually running. To see the QuickLaunch window, use the QuickLaunch hotkey combination, Shift-F9.
